For my fathers 50th on august 3rd we are throwing him a motown bash. He is a great fan of the motown era and we are using this as the idea. the invites are cards with a record made out of black foam attached to a card and it says "Tony's 50th hit". We are playing games that ask questions about is life from birth on up to present. I have also done my motwon trivia and have made up games on the motown era!! The cake is a giant record that I am making to look like the invite. We are giving out prizes and the poster above the table is him along with the temptations dancing!!! This is a characture drawing I had someone do up. We also have incorporated lyrics into old motwon favorites and have a karaoke machine that people can sing along with and of course these are motwon songs!! I have copied all of these lyrics for anyone who dares to sing the songs. We have filled in lyrics from things he has done in his life to the music of the old song. All in all it should be fun, I have records hanging from the ceiling and for anyone daring enough to dress like any of the motwon singers from that era they will get a special prize. I also am making a backdrop for my dad to take pictures in front of with people he knows from long ago so we can make a album for him to remember this special event. I think everyone will have fun and enjoy this moment in time.
