For receiving my baby girl Krystal Alessandra I planned an elegant and playful baby shower party. First I choose the place, a cute little hotel with a chic private restaurant. For the
invitations, I send emails indicating that it was a dollar baby shower (which means to bring money instead of gifts), so my husband and I could choose and buy what we really needed, and also
the mails-invitation explained that the guest should be prepared to play and have lost of fun! For the decoration, the people at the hotel helped me and decorate every table with bowls of
water containing rose petals and white candles, and create a nice mixture of sweets made of chocolate and strawberry cream, and other delightful mini-pyes and small sandwiches, whose colors
harmonize with the place decoration. The drinks were very girly (champagne and peach juice in champagne cups). In addition to that I put a label on top of each table, indicating the name of
a fairy (ex.: thinkerbell, mabe, fairy-god-mother, etc.) and a couple of lines explaining who that fairy was. All of the labels were decorated with gems (faked ones which I buyed at the
Peruvian chinese town) and pink balloons. All to make the impression of a cristal-party For the games, I copied ideas from this very website, and made cards of a game called baby animals, and
baby language. The game baby language was individual: I provide every single guest a card in which they should write how to say baby in Italian, French, Russian, German, Spanish, etc. After
they all complete their cards I asked them to bring them to the front table, and mi mother, a couple of friends and I start qualifying them. It was hilarious, and the best part was to give
gifts to the 20 top punctuations. The gifts were cool desk appliances, or fantasy jewelry. The game baby animals was a little more difficult, so the cards should be answered in groups. Here
the guests should indicate the name for the baby cubs for specific animals (please notice that my party were held in Lima, Peru, so all these games were in Spanish, and in Spanish we do not
use to add the word cub for referring to an specific cub, for example, if in English we say Bear bear cub, in Spanish is Oso
osezno) and I asked for very difficult ones, like duckbill, giraffe, sea horse, etc. At the end again almost everyone receive presents. And the most important part of the party was when I gave to each of the guests a piece of pink sheet and I asked them to write a wish for my unborn baby. I asked them to think as truly fairies and to give a gift as the fairies did on The Sleeping Beauty tale. I was really sweet, and the wished they write were really moving. And as souvenirs, I gave hand-notebooks within plastic boxes with the name of my unborn baby, along with fantasy-pens (made in china!) in different colors decorated with tiny-bottles of cologne on top, all this inside transparent bags with pink ties. It vas a very funny party, I was really happy, and all of the guests really enjoyed the gifts, games, drinks, meal and souvenirs!
