For invitations I purchased large wooden stars from a craft store and painted them a muted white. Then I wrote on each one, 'A Star Is Born... Almost' Then on the back I wrote the who
the occasion was for, date, time, place, etc. I dressed the entrance of a friends home w/ craft wreath (bought @ Michael's) made of twigs. I wrapped light blue, decorative ribbon around it and
inserted small wooden stars that again, I painted a pale white and glued a stem of floral wire to the back. In the middle of the wreath I hung a larger, solitary white star. I placed white
daisies in some metal lanterns decorated w/ stars. I stuck vases in them to keep the flowers fresh, then placed them next to the door. The party was in the backyard, and I set up four tables
(there weren't too many guests) and a long buffet style table. I draped each of the guest tables with some inexpensive light blue tablecloths I found online. The centerpieces were small vases
dressed up with some blue ribbon & filled with white jordan almonds(bought online)and a few daisies. next to the vases were small bird's nests (again bought from the craft store.) I
filled the nests with wooden eggs that I had painted a powder blue and speckled by dipping my paintbrush into a blue paint a few shades darker and flicking it at the egg. On the top of the
eggs, I placed a small thick wooden star (white) to symbolize the new arrival. I set a small, blue craft bird on each table as well. I gathered small sticks and twigs from around the area,
and wrapped them together w/ floral wire to form a large nest shape. I then set the bowls and dishes of food into them. The centerpiece was the cake. It was a simple sheet cake decorated with
a few stars and a little baby blue bird. It turned out quite well.
