I always wanted a Smurf Birthday Party as a child and even as an adult, yet they have not made it back into popularity like Strawberry Shortcake and the Care Bears. So, for my 31st
birthday, I threw a Smurf-feric Party! All of the guests, friends/family who watched the Smurfs as kids, wore blue and brought their sense of humor! Thanks to ebay, I was able to obtain
smurf party supplies, including hats, blowers, horns, and lots of Smurf Day balloons. I also purchased a Smurfette Cake Pan and had a local bakery made my cake complete with strawberry
filling. In honor of Poet, I began with a toast about the Smurfy Day.
My centerpiece was a white daisy arrangement with a smurfy blue tablecloth. Using a Smurf candy mold, I made lollipops as party favors. Each of my guests was seated at a retro Smurf figurine purchased with their hobbies in mind. I created Happy Smurfday! buttons using images from the Smurf website. I also purchased a smurf Clay mold kit that included props, and we each made our own smurfs to take home. The party game was a Smurf quiz with prizes for those who remembered the most about the Smurfs. Prizes included a Smurfette button and Smurfy balloons. We took lots of photos to capture a day spent as 10 year olds celebrating with our favorite cartoon characters, the Smurfs.
