Ice Party  (Post-Winter Holiday Party)  No one could host a Parent Holiday Party at my son's school this year due to the hectic schedules the Holidays tend to bring.  (Not to mention trying to find a babysitter who is available this time of year.) My idea is to host a Post-Holiday Party of sorts.  Name it either Ice (or Snow) Party.  Have it a few weeks after our children return to school after winter break.  Parents may need a little adult time by then.  It will be mid-January.   The house will be decorated in all white using only silver or branches dressed with white lights for accents.  Use the non-mark adhesive hooks to the ceiling and strewn the white lights (leftover from Holiday decorating) back and forth across the ceiling of main room or dining room.  White candles will be placed inside of as many empty white wine bottles (ask for parents to bring them to you at pick-up)so you don't have to drink it all.  Line the bottles all the way down the white tablecloth with silver sparkles tossed.  Add little branches down center.  In the midst of the Winter there is nothing better than lightness and sparkle.  The candles and natural branches set the tone for a comfortable warm setting. Each family will bring either an appetizer, side dish, or dessert by diving the task according to first initial of last names.(ie. a-f, g-p, q-z)
