It was the dreaded over the hill time for my husband, he was turning 40. I told him I was planning a party and he asked "no over-the -hill or vultures or grim reapers" . He said it
had all been over done. O.K , so my mind said to myself he needed to be "babied".
So invitations went out "It's A Boy, A 40 Year Old Boy" There was a baby blue sign with a stork carry the bundle of joy ( my husbands 40 year old face on a baby body) announcing the same news in the front of the house as guests arrived. When all the guests arrived I had my husband stand and close his eyes as I dressed him in a diaper over his jeans and a bonnet, a pacifier and a bib that I made that said "spit on 40". It was when he opened his eyes that he saw the theme of his party. He then had to carry a little teddy bear with him while at the party. Knowing he would see the cake before the party and not wanting to give the theme away, I made a little boy cake by Wilton that said some bithdays hit you like that! And told him the kids picked out his cake. All the guests fell right in bringing rubber duckies and gifts wrapped in baby gift paper. Thankfully my husband played right along and when the party was over it was nap time.
