First i'd like to say that my inspiration for this party was from this site, thank-you. My boyfriend turned 30 on the 04/05/07, so i decided to throw a surprsie party on the 05/05/07. My theme was the Disney Cars, everything i could find releated to this theme i bought. Unfortuantely here in SA we don't have half the stuff as i found on the interent, however it would have taken to long to ship here. I hired a marquee decorated it with balloons of cars & haapy 30th. my colours was black & red, i have glass lanterns, so i stuck the stickers of the characters on it with the candles inside, which were red & silver. Those went on the tables with table confetti. I made a cake in the shape of lightning mcqueen, his birthday presents were wrapped in the cars wrapping paper. For the drinks i found a blow up kids pool, obvoiusly with the cars print all over!! that was a hit! For food we hired a spit braai, (its a BBQ on a rotisery) with salads & roasted veg. For pudding there was a chocolate fountain & lemon meringue (his favourites). There were 27 adults & 3 children. Part of the decor there were these plastic cars characters on the tables which kept adults & children enteratined! The party packs were filled with chocolates & liquor chocolates for the adults with a martinin or shooter recipe involving chocolate liquer. there were also yo-yo's in the shape of tyres. The kids got a box of mixed chocolates with cars on it & a puzzle on theback, i was lucky to find these at a shop that imports sweets from the UK. My boyfriend was most surprised & loved the theme as this is our favourite movie! Its becoming winter here so as one of his gifts from me i bought a blanket with Lightning Mcqueen, it was great to see the reaction on his face when he opened it! The party was a great success!
