I had a surprise party for my husband, David, when he turned 40. it was a huge success! invitations: I printed the invitations myself. I scanned 3 pictures of David: one when he was a baby, one when he was in 1st grade, and one when he graduated high school.  i printed them on the invitation. the invitation instructed the guests to pick a decade from David's life and dress from that decade.  (60's, 70's or 80's).   Entertainment:  this was the most fun!  i enlisted the help of 4 of my girlfriends. First i scanned numerous pictures of David growing up until present day and made a slide show using Power Point.  Next, i picked out songs from a significant year in David's lifetime. We made David come and sit in front of the stage and we performed songs to him.  after every song we gave him some sort of memorabelia.  I used My Guy from 1964, the year he was born.  I dressed up in a chiffon dress and feather boa and sang the song to him.  then i wrapped the feather boa around his neck. meanwhile the slide show continued and a friend narrated current events that happed during the years the pictures were taken. ( my friends and i were using this time to change clothes)Other songs we performed were: Love will keep us together:  i gave him a rose of the keyboard "captain"was mock playing. YMCA: we all dressed up like the village people.  we put the Indian headress on him afterwards! Walk Like an Egyptian, I love Rock and Roll. And finally i sang "it Had to be YOu" to him while he sat there with all that garb on. It was a night he will never forget! and so much fun!
