Surprise Party 41yr

June 2003

RINA in RISHON LE ZION, ISRAEL

This year we were celebrating my husband's 41 birthday. I decided to make it a suprise party for him and till the evening did not tell him the theme, which was "back to childhood". Since he was 41, I made it "4+1", i.e.5. I've asked our friends to come in shorts for the men and with pony-tails for the women. I've drawn a clock with the numbers going from the left to the right  and as if you see them in a mirror, and made photo newspaper with my husband's photoes arranged according to the themes: he and cars, he and family, he and animals, the photoes were of all ages, even black-white, and it looked very good and was interesting for our friends to see how he looked like when he was younger. Than I made a questionnary how good you know the birthday boy with 3 answers to each question, while only one was correct. Those who answered the questions right (and it was everybody) got a prize - a candy. Then we played a game "pin a tail" when the boys pinned a bra and pants to a big drawn Barby, and the girls pinned a wedding ring to a knight (with closed eyes). It was very funny. Then we played fishing a golden fish, when all the fish was cut out of colored paper with magnet on one side and an order what to do on the other, like "kiss your neighbour", or sing a song, or tell your favourite receipt of cake etc. After that we played "pass a parcel" with 3 small souvenires inside, and it was very funny to see grown guys quarrel when did the music actually stop. Finally, I made an aquarium out of a salad bowl with plastic fish and stones and filled with blue water, and my husband had to write 3 wishes, we put the paper in a small bottle and sent it to the fish, and I said that next year we will see if the fish knows its buisiness. All the party was a great success. As for a cake, my daughters made one in the form of a tennis ball (yellow) on the green grass and with the blue sky (made of cocoa with food colour), and it also looked great since it was very colourful. Now all our friends are waiting for the next birthday party. It was not expensive too.
