For my husband's 40th birthday, I threw him a surprise party with a Caddyshack theme.
For the invitations, I used the picture from the movie poster and had a friend digitally remove Rodney Dangerfield's head & put a picture of my husband instead. (I also had this picture enlarged into a poster that I displayed at the party.) For table centerpieces, I used paper-type grass (purchased through Stumps). In the middle of the grass" stood the Caddyshack gopher the dances to the theme song to Caddyshack..."I'm Alright" by Kenny Loggins. (These can be purchased through Amazon.) Also in the "grass" golf balls were randomly placed throughout. For other decorations I used golf party decorations available through various party supply stores. The favors were little miniature Baby Ruth candy bars (a little joke from the movie.) All the guest were to dress as their favorite character from the movie or in golf attire...the cheesier the better. When my husband arrived to the party and walked through the door the DJ played the theme song "I'm Alright." (I brought a change of clothes for my husband so that he could participate in the costume fun.) The cake was made to looked like a golf ball with a gopher coming out of the ground. (You can check out a picture at... http://www.frostingwithflair.com/html/cakes/html/sculpted/html/gopher.html ) At the end of the party we had a costume contest where the winner won the gag gift of a "Potty Putter" game (where you play golf while on the toilet) that was purchased on eBay. The party was a huge hit with everyone."
