Appletini Affair Party 40yr

For my 40th birthday I wanted to have a really special party. I decided to have a Appletini Affair since the Apple Martini is one of my favorite cocktails. To match the theme I did the entire color scheme in black & apple green. I went with black table covers and apple green runners made from extra wide floral ribbon on each table.

For center pieces I used the glass blocks you buy at Lowes or Home Depot and wraped the sides with apple green ribbon. The glass blocks were stacked in threes to make a pyrimid & on top of each block was a martini glass with glass stones and votive candles.The remainder of the ribbon was used to make curly ribbon to randomly place on each table.The venue I selected had a really long bare wall so I hire a decorator to cover the back wall in sheer black fabric with white string lights behind it to give the room more of a sexy cocktail feel.

The decorator suggested we use sheer apple green fabric to create 3 hour glasses spaced across the black wall to give the apperance of martini glasses as you enter the room. The Apple Martini was the signature drink of the evening.I also served apple jello shots & the food was catered. I served green punch for the non drinkers along with tap beer.

Apple Jolly Ranchers were made available to all the guest to sour up their drinks if so desired. Each guest received a Shot Glass favor with Appletini Affair" & mini martini glasses imprinted on each glass. The shot glasses were filled with Hershey's Kisses.

The attire for the evening was everybody dressed in Black & Apple Green.Mid way through the party we showed a DVD of myself from birth to 40. It was fun watching the guest get a kick out of childhood photos. The cake was a two tier square white cake with black & apple green polk-a-dots(& of course with a martini glass on top)! It was a fabulous Affair !!! We had lots of food
